There’s no controvery that G.W. Bush was president when the tragic events of 9/11/2001 happened

Most people who visit Cry and Howl know that ol’ Steve cannot stand liberalism, socialism, communism … most “isms” regardless of the name attached. (Capitalism is cool!)

Think Progress is probably one of the most far-left rags on the internet and virtually every piece written is nothing but certified left-wing drivel. However, I saw the following and couldn’t help but want to highlight it here. Okay, I know there are conservatives who will hate this … but what can I say. I’m way beyond trying to make friends. I actually have one … eh … maybe two and that’s enough. Here we go …

Was George W. Bush President On 9/11? An Investigation Into The Controversy Tearing The GOP Apart

On Friday, Donald Trump generated substantial controversy when he asserted that George W. Bush was president at the time of the 9/11 attacks.

“When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time,” Trump said. “He was president, O.K.?

Jeb Bush immediately pushed back, calling Trump’s comments “pathetic” and insisting “my brother kept us safe.”

The media jumped on to the burgeoning controversy. According to The New York Times the idea that Bush was president on 9/11 and failed to stop the attack is a “break from the GOP.”

Was George W. Bush president on September 11, 2001? It’s time to settle this once and for all.

It’s true that, in the presidential election held on November 7, 2000, George W. Bush received fewer votes than Al Gore.

But according to the Associated Press, this is a photo of George W. Bush being sworn in as president on January 20, 2001.

Contemporaneous reports suggest that America’s arcane election rules and a favorable Supreme Court ruling handed the election to Bush, even though he lacked popular support.

Calendars from that era indicate that January 20, the day Bush was sworn in as president, occurred some time before September 11.

That still doesn’t settle the question of whether Bush stopped being president sometime before September 11.

According to ABC News, George W. Bush spent the entire month of August 2001 on vacation at his ranch in Texas, which is not typical behavior for someone who is president. Other reports, however, reveal Bush continue to recieve the “Presidential Daily Brief” at the ranch, strongly suggesting he was still president.

This is the briefing he received on August 6, 2001:

THE REST RIGHT HERE

Dammit! I hate it when the left is right … but when they are … they are.

You know ….. When you stop and think about it ….. Even though the Supreme Court annointed and crowned George W.Bush as “President” there is actually some room to wonder what he ever did that was substantially legitimately presidential at all ….. I think Cheney and Rumsfield had more to do with running the country during those days than Mr. Bush ever did. I will concede that he was “Technically” President because that is a matter of record. I don’t know. All-in-all I think he was a good old boy. I mean he was a Texan after all and there isn’t much bad that can be said about a Texan that I know of. I liked him and I never blame him for anything because I think it was the other two that called most of the shots. I could be wrong of course and if I am I will repent of my sins. But I am not going to talk nasty about any Westerner because I’ve been there and all the Westerners I know are damned straight folks.

Yeah, right now I’m going back and forth with the good liberals at Think Progress. It’s quite entertaining though.
We could argue all day whether Bush was a legitimate president … same as Obama. It’s the end results which count. Bush set up team Obama for all we have today. I cannot stand the Bush clan. I won’t vote for Hillary if it comes down to Bush-Hillary for sure. I’m not sure what I’ll do. I just hope Trump, Cruz or Carson get the nomination.

Since I no longer trust the electoral system I am not sure whether I will vote or not. But if I do it will surely be for Trump as well … for the time being anyway.

But was he “who’s” on first, “what’s” on second, or “I don’t know’s” on third?
