Brief Thoughts For 9/11
Here we are on 9/11/2015 remembering the tragic events that happened exactly fourteen years ago. I’ve been reading commentaries and opinions about that day. Some are quite moving, some piss me off. Some reveal the unity that Americans experienced, albeit briefly. Others make remarks about “conspiracy theories” and how inappropriate it would be to bring the topic up while folks are basking in the glow of a once unified nation. We’re all wired differently. I admire the ability of my blogging friends to articulate their feelings about 9/11/2001 with very heart-felt emotions. Honoring those who perished needlessly is something that must be done at least every year.
Having said that, I think we need to devote the rest of the year to exposing the absolute evil responsible for those deaths and the incredible destruction brought on America. “Conspiracy theory?” A conspiracy is simply an agreement between two or more people to commit a crime. By definition, you’re damn right the events of that day was the result of a conspiracy. To borrow the words of David Ray Griffin … One holds a conspiracy theory about some event (such as a bank robbery or a corporation defrauding its stockholders) if one believes that it resulted from such an agreement. A conspiracy theorist is simply someone who accepts such a theory. According to the Bush-Cheney administration, the 9/11 attacks resulted from a conspiracy between Osama bin Laden and various members of al-Qaeda, including the 19 men accused of hijacking the airliners. This official account is, therefore, a conspiracy theory.
I’m not going to write a lot about the ‘conspiracy’ today. I touched the subject yesterday and there are so many more facts proving my claims. It’s been so long and the nation has suffered immensely and irreparably under the Bush and the Obama administrations that we need to focus on the eminent dangers facing us today.
I will say this; Whenever I see Bush or Obama or Rudi Giuliani attend any 9/11 memorials it makes me sick. I’m reminded of gangsters who just murdered a guy and the Boss says, “Hey Joey, send some flowers, something nice to the wife, in honor of her husband (who we just whacked), along with our condolences.”
