Of gasoline prices and lunch boxes

August 28, 2015

A couple of years ago I was complaining about the escalating price of gasoline. Naturally, much of the blame I directed towards Obama and his merry band of perverts. Okay, I felt and still do that if the liberals can blame Bush for the same stuff, then Obama is fair game. John Liming at American Liberal Times made the point that the president isn’t responsible for the price of gasoline going up or down. I mentioned at one point that if gasoline gets under $2.00 a gallon, I’ll give Obama credit anyway. On my way to work this morning I noticed a couple of gas stations had regular gas for $1.99 a gallon and there are some posting a price of $1.89 a gallon. So, here it is … “Good job Barack. But I still cannot wait until you’re gone.”

Okay, now that I lived up to my commitment I have to move along. (first though I’m going to fill up my truck!)

Well, we live in a violent world. Folks cutting other folk’s heads off, shootings, stabbings, plundering, pillaging, raping, not to mention young children carrying lunch boxes with violent images on them. The latter, thank goodness has been addressed …

“We noticed that Laura has a Wonder Woman lunchbox that features a super hero image,” reads the letter. “In keeping with the dress code of the school, we must ask she not bring this to school. The dress code we have established requests that the children not bring violent images into the building in any fashion – on their clothing (including shoes and socks), backpacks and lunchboxes.

“We have defined ‘violent characters’ as those who solve problems using violence. Super heroes certainly fall into that category.”

And here is the offending lunch box …

Seems they know not what they do or attack. I don’t know all the details concerning if I would support all of Wonder Woman’s endeavors over the years. However it sounds right up their alley…

I would far rather the kids have lunch boxes with such images on them — What about Cowboy Images? Cowboy movies were filled with violence. What about cartoon images? Some cartoons used to feature cats getting bashed over the head with sledge hammers and blown up by dynamite when a mouse became angry with them — I would rather have super hero images on the outside of kid lunch boxes rather than ticking time bombs inside — and if schools keep on accommodating ideologies that foment violence in their radical offshoots then we might just come to such sad times.

Common sense definitely is a rare commodity in our schools these days. I SO fear for my grandchildren.
