Barack Obama’s Answer To High Gasoline Prices: “Algae … you’ve got a bunch of algae out here. If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we’ll be doing alright.”

Barack Obama was speaking at the University of Miami Thursday, Feb. 23 and the following is part of what he had to say about the high and continually rising price of gasoline:

“We’re making new investments in the development of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance, algae – you’ve got a bunch of algae out here. If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we’ll be doing alright. Believe it or not, we could replace up to 17 percent of the oil we import for transportation with this fuel that we can grow right here in America.“

He said “The American people aren’t stupid” … and that drilling for oil (increasing production here in America) is not a “strategy to solve our energy challenge.” But, if we can figure out how to make energy out of algae, “we’ll be doing alright.”

Folks, this is a demonstration of how the greatest mind in America works. We have energy problems and high gasoline prices: Obama says … grow more algae and figure out how to make energy out of it. Gawd! It’s so clear to me now; so obvious. I don’t know why I never thought of it before. You know, who needs gasoline or diesel fuel when you have algae?!

I don’t know why the main stream press isn’t plastering what Obama said all over the inter net and why that quote isn’t printed in every news paper across America. But as usual the media isn’t reporting what Obama said. In fact, here are a few links indicating how the media avoids posting the profound wisdom that comes from the mouth of Mr. Obama.

Reuters points out that Obama “hit back at Republican criticism” … but here is all they said about Obama’s algae solution to our energy problem:

… he repeated there would be no “silver bullet” for America’s energy crunch, and said real change would come only in the long run.
The trio of proposals announced in Miami included a $30 million competition in natural gas technologies and a $14 million program to development algae-based fuel.

The Chicago Tribune said basically the same thing as Reuters.

 Obama surprised some in the crowd on Thursday with an announcement that the Energy Department was preparing to invest some $14 million in technology to develop algae transportation fuels on top of the $85 million it has already invested in developing algae biofuels . The use of algae-based fuels, he claimed, could replace as much as 17 percent of the nation’s current oil usage, according to BusinessWeek.

I have the feeling the Obama propaganda machine doesn’t want to quote his most asinine and ridiculous statements. It’s amazing that people actually buy into that. I can just hear the college brats and liberals right now: “Wow! Algae! Barack Obama is so smart!”
